The show welcomed back Carl Sheeler of Business Valuations Ltd. His company specializes in assessing a business’s value. This type of appraisal is needed when a company is approaching a merger or acquisition, new partnerships or even estate planning. For those who are new to the idea of business valuation, it is important to remember that having well-qualified individuals perform this analysis can be key to the validity of a valuation that will not be disputed by the other parties involved in a transaction.
Carl Sheeler has been in this specialized profession for more than 20 years, joining the ranks of Business Valuations, Ltd in 1992 after his 10-year career as a tactical and training officer in the United States Marine Corps. For his undergraduate degree he attended both the University of Maryland and the University of Illinois. In 2004, he received a Ph.D. in finance from the Union Institute and University. Along with his financial career, Carl Sheeler has been active in several different groups that advocate the importance of businesses utilizing the guidance of trusted advisers. Some of these groups are: Strategic Trusted Advisers Roundtable (STAR), Southern California Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisers, and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
