Joining the show this Saturday night will be Dr. Krista Roybal and Susan Guinn. Susan Guinn is currently a candidate for county assessor’s office. She announced her campaign at the beginning April, and her platform consists of the following priorities:

• Protect Taxpayers from Overpayment
• End Bloated Budgets and Excesses Fees
• Save Money by Modernizing Systems
• Empower Taxpayers

Ms. Guinn has spent more than 20 years working as an advocate for consumers. Her law firm won a $3.3 billion settlement against Big Tobacco for county government. Now she wants to use her experience for the residents of San Diego County. If elected, she will be the first Asian American elected to countywide office in San Diego County, and she will be the first woman to serve as Assessor/Recorder/Clerk.

Dr. Krista Roybal is the Executive Medical Director of the True Life Center for Wellbeing. Completing her undergraduate degree at UC San Diego while assisting a doula in over 100 births, Dr. Roybal went on to New York Medical College. While still in medical school she became fascinated with the mind-body connection. Though initially she trained to have a Family Practice specialty, her talents for aiding people to change detrimental behaviors was soon discovered. She went on to specialize in psychiatry at the University of New Mexico and was trained by one of Harvard’s top addiction psychiatrists. She also developed expertise in psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, women’s mental health, mindfulness meditation and the treatment of anxiety and depression.
