Interview with a Starflacker
Richard and interviewed legendary starflacker, publicist and press agent to the stars, Dick Guttman about his new book “Starflacker: Inside the Golden age of Hollywood.” Mr. Guttman relates how he got started as a publicist and how Hollywood and stars have changed over years. Mr. Guttman worked at Rogers & Cowan, a famous PR firm that was the training ground for publicists when stars began having their own personal publicists instead relying on the studios. From there, he started his own firm, Guttman Associates, and was a publicist to stars the likes of Cary Grant and Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Paul Newman, Greer Garson, Warren Beatty, Barbra Streisand, Clint Eastwood and the hundreds of other legends. His 650-page book is filled with anecdotes from the stars.
