Richard and Joe welcomed Walter Murray an actor who has performed on stages in San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York. He is the co-founder of the San Diego Black Ensemble Theater and an Associate Artist with SledgeHammer Theater. Walter also has served as a board member of the Actors Alliance of San Diego.
Recently he gave a critically acclaimed performance of Sorn in Aaron Posner’s “Stupid F***ing Bird”, an adaptation of Chekhov’s “The Seagull.”
He has had various careers in teaching, physical therapy, diversity, sexual harassment education, management, and corporate training.
He has also facilitated training detectives in interrogation and witness interviews.
Born in Texas, Murray was raised in Chicago down the street from a young Cassius Marcellus Clay (who later changed his name to Mohamed Ali). His father, Louis Murray, was a Tuskegee airman during WWII. After that, his father worked for the government and was transferred often, among his jobs he was a special agent for the DEA, FBI, Secret Service and Sky Marshall. His family moved to San Diego in 1977 where he attended Hilltop High School before going to the American Conservatory Theater, where Annette Benning was a teacher. He returned to San Diego in 1985 and apprenticed at the Old Globe Theater.
