Richard and Joe welcomed Sean Puckett Senior VP with Mechanics Bank to discuss what is going on with community banks, the local San Diego economic outlook, a banker’s “wish list” for legislative reform, and what to expect with banking legislative reform post-election. They also discussed the acquisition of California Republic Bank by Mechanics Bank.
On October 1, 2016, Mechanics Bank announced the completion of their strategic merger with California Republic Bank. Mechanics’ 110+ year history of reputability plus California Republic’s accelerated success since inception in 2007 has produced California’s preeminent community bank. Mechanics Bank provides personal banking, business banking, trust and estate services, brokerage and wealth management services through thirty-three offices across Northern California.
They also discuss Sean’s philanthropic efforts with Boys To Men a mentoring program serving middle school boys age 11-14, and high school boys age 15-17 identified by school administration to be at-risk of educational failure, dropping out of school, juvenile delinquency or gang-related offenses.
Sean Puckett brings more than 15 years of banking experience to Mechanics Bank. Sean has been recognized by the San Diego Daily Transcript as a “Top 21 Young Influential”, as one of SD Metro’s “40 under 40”, and served as past President of the Strategic Trusted Advisors Roundtable and the Laurels for Leaders Foundation. Sean is a graduate of the University of San Diego and resides in Point Loma with his wife Catherine and their two boys.
