Dean Odle, CEO of Cabrillo Credit Union
Then, Richard and Joe discuss credit unions and banking with Dean Odle, Cabrillo Credit Union’s President, and Chief Executive Officer. Cabrillo Credit Union was established in 1955 to serve Border Patrol agents in San Diego. Today it has five branches and serves not only the Border Patrol but other federal agencies, Sharp HealthCare, the City of Carlsbad and many other customers.
Mr. Odle brings over 20 years of experience in operations management, retail operations, member support, lending, business development, and marketing, including holding several high-level leadership roles in the financial services industry. His diverse background also includes founding, building and selling a successful retail business.
Dean opened his first credit union account at the young age of eight and has been a huge supporter ever since. He is passionate about the credit union movement and believes that the member-owned, cooperative model is just as relevant today as it was 100 years ago.
Dean has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from Oregon State University, a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from Georgia State University and studied International Business and Marketing in Tokyo, Japan.
