ESPN is unveiling the top 40 female athletes of the past 40 years and featured will be former student-athlete and International Tennis Hall of Famer Billie Jean King. In 1990, Life Magazine named Billie Jean King as one of the most important Americans of the 20th century.
The documentary will debut on ESPN2 on June 23 the anniversary of Title IX, at noon eastern.
“Billie Jean has been so influential in helping women earn more in terms of respect, prize money and other opportunities,” says Pam Shriver, a 21-time grand slam doubles champ and now an ESPN analyst.
