Richard and Joe welcomed guests Ben Goldsmith and Emily Evans, both of whom are orchestrating the first ever Carlsbad Classic – 2015 WTA tennis tournament. Tickets are now on sale. The full list of players will be announced 6 weeks prior to the event.Ben Goldsmith is the Director of the Carlsbad Classic Tennis Tournament being held for the first time this November 22-29. Mr. Goldsmith was born and raised in Texas and graduated from Texas University. Having never played tennis until he was 30, he first became involved in the sport through a marketing position with Dell computers. His goal with this tournament is to make this a fan-friendly event. The tournament benefits a problem that many people are uncomfortable talking about, human trafficking.
Emily Evans is the Director of Donor Relations/Events for Operation Underground Railroad, O.U.R. This charity organization works with local governments to end the process of child sex trafficking, both internationally and domestically. While their organization always works with the local governments, often they are able to bring an end to the trafficking rings faster because as private organization there are fewer regulations to which they need to adhere.LISTEN TO PODCAST
